It was announced back in April that ESPN and Drone Sports Association (DSA) would enter a partnership to deliver drone racing to the masses. The new sport, which has captivated hobbyists, venture capitalists, and national brands, won’t be featured on any broadcast channels, but ESPN will stream the 2016 U.S. National Drone Racing Championships at 1 PM EST on WatchEPSN.
The race is held on Governors Island in New York City where 60 miles per hour racing will take place. The fastest of pilots will advance to represent Team USA in an international drone race this Fall. If you’re into fast-paced drones, first-person view goggles, and Tron-like racetracks, you can catch the drone racing event live on ESPN’s website (or app for mobile).
